Mathematician David Robert Grimes calculated that a conspiracy involving more than a few hundred people collapses within years. The early Christian account involved hundreds of public witnesses, many of whom were tortured and executed. No one recanted. The conspiracy theory requires more faith than the resurrection.
We have returned to a pre-Christian subjectivity where every individual is their own arbiter of truth. The result is not liberation; it is fragmentation. Social media algorithms feed us our own “gospel” back to us until we cannot speak the same language as our neighbors. The question is no longer “what is true?” but “what is true for me?”
